About Us

Hey, it's Aga and Tomek.

theCode started in 2022 with a simple itch: the color schemes we stared at all day - Dracula, gruvbox, One Dark Pro - deserved to exist outside the editor. So we turned them into posters, found a print shop we loved, and shipped a few hundred prints to walls all over the world.

Printed poster orders are now on hold. We're preparing digital editions so the designs can live on as artwork you print locally. You can still browse all 47 designs in the archive. Join the newsletter to hear when digital editions are ready.

Two more things came out of this pivot. We designed our own color palette family for the site - this page runs on one of the palettes right now, and the switcher in the corner flips between them - and we turned those palettes into free editor themes for VS Code, Neovim, Helix, Zed and your terminal.

Thanks to everyone who hung one of our posters over the years. If you have a question, write to us.
